To Die or Not to Die
Are you truly dead because you died.
Quote: By Migdoel Noel Torres
Do you know one of the reasons why we have a three day wakes after death strikes. All religions have some sort of ritual, but the one that makes sense to me is one a few people know little of. In the old days when someone passed away many did not know if that person was really died. So they gave the corpse three days to find out if
1: He or she was really died and not just in a death like state in which they would awaken from at any moment.
2: God may want to return them for any reason he wants.
Both have happened and it's still may happens in today's world especially in third world countries. But it could happened in modern counties too. Maybe because of human error or divine intervention.
Example: My mother was pronounce died after giving birth to my youngest sister in 1959. She was put on a gurney and rolled to a dimly lit cold morgue in King County Hospital, Brooklyn N.Y. After a few hours my mother woke up and found herself covered from head to toe in a white blanket. She remembers waking up freezing and she yelled for help. A nurse was passing by and heard my moms faint voice calling for help and she rushed into the morgue room. The nurse looked over to where my moms faint cries were coming from and she saw this body on a gurney asking for help in both Spanish and English. She panicked and called for help herself.
Soon an emergency crew rushed to the morgue and found my mother very much alive. She was examined and sent to ICU. Days later she was home with her baby girl.
How can something like that happen? My dad didn't want to sue (or probably didn't know how back than.) He was just happy to have his wife and daughter all doing fine. I did ask my mom if she remembered anything from those moments, she said she saw a bright light, but nothing else. I was hoping maybe she saw her parents or better yet, 'Jesus' and that he sent her back like in the film "Heaven is Real." We like to believe that when a love one passes on that someone we love will be there to greet and comfort us when death does call. In fact that's the biggest reason that I think comforts us the most when a love one passes away. The idea of being reunited with pass love ones brings us to fear death just a little less. They're many movies that are non-fiction that proofs this theory to have some sort of merit. Especially when told by the people that had gone through it. Also many radio talk shows and many magazines articles of how many people saw someone that had departed soon after death or while they had been pronounced died and returned are so commonplace and have so many things common. I myself have had the dead come to me through dreams that were very vivid. One in particular. My best friend died of a heart attack in my house July 2014. I tried so hard to resuscitate him but it was to no avail. I would like to think that God called him home, but that's not my believe. I believe God lets life and death happen, but that's another story. When my best friend passed on I was devastated and still am in a way especially that tomorrow is the anniversary of his death. And I will release this blog story a day after. After days of non stop grieving I had a very vivid dream not like a movie that's colorized but like a soap opera or someone recording a wedding. In my dream my friend came to me and told me not to worry that he was fine. I hugged him crying and again he whispered, "I'm fine." That dream did ease my fears and soothed my crying soul. And weather it's true or not, I want to believe that it is. Although the bible says ones soul goes back to him and that you're in a deep sleep till resurrection day. But knowing that someday we all will be reunited with love ones again makes me smile even in grieve. That being said. This new story is one about spirits that have been seen and those who saw them did not know who it was they were looking at. When one person sees something one may be skeptical of the story, but when one two or more see it too, well you know there must be some truth to it. My daughter in-law tells me that when she was a child about 10 she and her cousin were playing in the living room as their uncle lay of his death bed in the other room. Seems the uncle in his thirties was dying of aids. No one was in the room with him as the rest of the family was in the kitchen making dinner. My future daughter in law and her female cousin were playing in the living room when the young girls saw an older women appear in the living room and walk to the bedroom where their dying uncle was. They got scared because the entity walked through the door. The girls panicked and yell for their mothers that came running in quickly. The mothers rushed in very nervously at hearing the panic in their daughters voice and screamed, "What happened? What's wrong?" The girls started speaking both at once and they told their mothers in panic voice what they had just seen. That a women had gone in the room where their gravely ill uncle was. The women ran into the room as the girls followed. One of the mothers told the girls too stay in the living room. Once inside the women notice that there was no one there except for the uncle on the bed. The girls were quietly sitting on the sofa whispering to each other. They asked each other if they knew the women that had gone into the room, they both said that they had never seen the lady before. Soon one of the mothers came out with her eyes all swollen from crying, "You're uncle has passed away girls." The girls being so young only got teary eyed. As the police and emergency medics were taking over the situation one of the mothers asked the girls to describe the lady that they saw. The girls described her as a women in her eighties, light dark skin (Caramel). My future daughter in law told her mom that the women was about her height but a little heavier. Her mother got up and went to the room and brought out an album filled with new and old pictures of family and friends. The girls looked at the album separately and they were told to see if they could see the person if any that they thought looked like the women they saw enter the room. My future daughter in law went first and saw a few old pictures of the person or entity she saw enter the room. Her mother shocked stared at her sister and gave her the album so her could ID who she saw enter the room. My future daughter in laws cousin picked the same person from the pictures she saw, "That's her mom." The mothers looked at each other as a chill filled the air according to them. The entity the girls had seen was their uncles mother. I would like to think that the mans mother had come to take her son to where ever is it that's waiting for us all. But I love the idea that since it was the mans mother that came to get him, that maybe the love we carry deep in our souls never truly dies. Just like in the film "Ghost."
